Margaret’s Patch

I’m married, have twin daughters and 4 lovely grandchildren. Retired from NHS. Love my garden and allotment, knitting, baking, walking.

Mark’s Veg Plot

I am a retired Lecturer in IT Service Management. My main hobby is growing edible plants, and photographing them — and now blogging! I am also interested in cooking, and all matters related to Food and Drink.

May Dreams Gardens

I love to garden and I love most everything about gardening… good soil, plants, flowers, books, tools, and other gardeners. I consider myself a Gardenangelist, an evangelist for gardening who loves gardening and wants others to love it, too.

I’ve been gardening in some capacity my whole life, starting as a toddler following behind my Dad as he planted peas every spring. I wore out the gardening books at my local library by checking them out over and over again. And there still might be a soup spoon or two—my childhood digging tool of choice—buried in the backyard.

Boiler up! I am a graduate of the Purdue University School of Agriculure with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture Production.

The Middle-Sized Garden

A middle-sized garden can be expensive and time-consuming. You need more manure, plants and hands-on help than you do in tiny courtyard gardens, but you’re still limited on space. I’m not the sort of person who can make my own poly-tunnel from discarded plastic packaging. My money-saving tips need to be easier than that.

So I started this blog to share tips and inspiration on how to create a gorgeous garden, while saving time and money. I also try to follow environmentally-conscious and wild-life friendly gardening policies, although I usually crack when it comes to lily-beetle.

The Mindful Gardener

The sensory pleasures and earthy delights of gardening. Some musings upon life, love, joy, food, family, wildlife and waste thrown in.

Minding My Garden

I live and garden and otherwise try to spend time outdoors near Seattle, WA.

Modern Veg Plot

Documenting my adventures in growing hopefully interesting and sometimes unusual edibles in my greenhouse and allotment plot. Also, I have a particular fondness for Winter Squash and Perennial Vegetables….

Mr Plant Geek

I think I’m comfortable with referring to myself as the ultimate plant geek- as my obsession with plants has been persisting for over 30 years now, and shows no sign of letting up!

I have been responsible for introducing hundreds of new plants into the UK, most notably novelties such as the Egg and Chips plant and the Fuchsia Berry!

Despite my shy early years, I’m confident in front of a camera, with appearances on QVC across Europe, BBC and ITV under my belt. I’m also a keen social media communicator, and use it to find out more about what gardeners want from their gardening and plants, and share my own advice with them!

mudandgluts

This is a diary of my efforts in growing, mud-wrangling and regularly being thwarted by the weather on 2 half plots in South London.
,br />I’ve an incurable addiction to seed collecting, seed circles and am very proud to be a Heritage Seed Library seed guardian.

muddygardenerblog

I spend four days a week looking after five different gardens in small corner of Suffolk. This is what I have been doing this week.

My Gardener Says

Over the years, I’ve transformed my Austin, Texas (zone 8b) high-maintenance, water-guzzling “yard” to a water-conserving, wildlife-friendly, no-mow set of gardens. Here, you can read about my philosophy of gardening: why I believe it’s important and responsible to incorporate native plants and water-wise practices in a wildlife attracting and regionally appropriate landscape.

My Half Acre

My name is Christine and I am a university administrator/aspiring gardener. For the bulk of my life, I lived in urban areas, forced to be content with window boxes and tiny grass plots. That all changed when my spouse and I decided to pull up roots and move to suburbia.

Throughout the December 2016 – February 2017, we visited house after house looking for a property that needed little upkeep on the inside and had huge potential outside. In March, we viewed a home that was situated on a half acre of land in a small town in suburban Boston. Despite the beautiful interior, the work outside was daunting….
